Goat’s Beard (Aruncus sylvester)

Carbon River Trail, Mount Rainier N.P., WA, 8/2011.

Differentiated from the similar Ocean Spray by its compound leaves.  The common name, which is sometimes used for a completely different flower (Tragopogon dubius), refers to its pipe-cleaner like hanging flowers.  Also known as spaghetti flower and bride’s feathers.
